Brief History
After several years of fruitful discussions, on 16 November 2006 under the initiative of Argentine, Brazil and Uruguay, the constitutional meeting of the South West Atlantic Hydrographic Commission (SWAtHC) took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Statutes were signed on 14 December 2006 and the first formal meeting was held in Buenos Aires City, Argentine on 10 April 2007. The Commission´s first Chairman was Rear Admiral Andrés Roque Di Vincenzo (Argentine). Main achievements have been the development of a regional Cartographic Plan, establishment of a Planning Commission to coordinate INT Charts and ENC production and the acceptance of Paraguay and Bolivia as Associate Member and Observer respectively. |
Bref historique
C´est à l´initiative de l´Argentine, du Brésil et de l´Uruguay, et après plusieurs années de discussions fructueuses, que fut tenue la réunion constitutionnelle de la commission hydrographique de l´Atlantique sud-ouest (CHAtSO), le 16 novembre 2006, à Rio de Janeiro, Brésil. Les statuts ont été signés le 14 décembre 2006 et la première réunion officielle a eu lieu à Buenos Aires city, Argentine, le 10 avril 2007. Le premier président de la commission fut le contre-amiral Andrés Roque Di Vincenzo (Argentine). Les principaux accomplissements ont été l´établissement d´un plan de cartographie régional, la création d´une commission de planification visant à coordonner la production de cartes INT et d´ENC, et l´acceptation de la du Paraguay et de la Bolivie en tant que membres associé et observateur, respectivement.
